Certified Grounds Technician Application
This is your official application form furnished by the Certification Committee of the Professional Grounds Management Society (PGMS(R)). It is necessary that this application form be approved by the Certification Committee. Please take the time to fill in this form carefully and provide all of the requested information.
Once the application has been received, you will receive an invoice by email. If you wish to pay by check, please make checks payable to PGMS. Payment must be received prior to the processing of the application.
The Certification Committee applauds your efforts to become a Certified Grounds Technician.
The following minimum requirements must be filled in order for an applicant to apply for the Certified Grounds Technician (CGT(R)) program:
1) High School Diploma or GED (If you have earned a degree in higher education, please submit diploma or transcripts from that institution).
2) Two years of experience in the grounds maintenance field.
Grounds maintenance experience shall mean working for or with a person, firm or agency engaged in grounds maintenance operations that include the installation, care and removal of indoor and outdoor plant material and supporting non-plant materials and activities.
The Certification Committee shall be the sole arbiter in determining if the applicant meets the eligibility requirement for the program.
Completion of the CGT program requires the submission of 35 continuing education units every five (5) years. If an individual is a member of PGMS during all three years, the continuing education submission fee is waived ($125 submission fee).
