University and College Grounds
Honor Award

The Grounds Department at DBU offers unprecedented beauty and interest to students and faculty/staff, with oak, maple, and pistache trees providing color and contrast throughout the year. A sea of seventy-five redbuds welcome visitors in early spring along with a host of flower beds, arbors, and landscape features accenting a hilly topography. Since 1995, over 2600 trees and 9000 shrubs have been planted on a once barren hilltop, rendering the Dallas Baptist University campus as one of the most striking of the southwest.
