Program Support Underwritten by: "Culture Eats Strategy For Breakfast" - Peter Drucker Culture is not developed overnight. Culture is developed and cultivated by authentic and transparent organizational leaders who consciously and consistently demonstrate behavior that aligns with the organizational culture they wish to foster. In turn, these leaders become brand ambassadors that attract motivated and qualified talent, and retain and cultivate current talent. The Case for Leadership Education - 41% of respondents said that learning opportunities are what keep them engaged at work (Source) - “94% of employees would stay at a company longer if it invested in their career development” (2018 LinkedIn Workplace Learning Report) but many said that lack of time was the biggest obstacle to learning. Cultures driven by leaders who engage in professional development and in turn, encourage their employees to participate in professional development see increases in workplace synergy, employee engagement, and reduce employee turnover. The Cost of Losing An Employee Built In reports that the average costs to replace an employee are: - $1,500 for hourly employees - 100 to 150% of an employee's salary for technical positions - Up to 213% of an employee's salary for C-suite positions Costs, both tangible and intangible include: - Recruiting (advertising, interviewing, screening and hiring) - Onboarding and Training - Lost productivity (can take new employees 1-2 years to reach same productivity levels of existing employees) - Poor engagement (high turnover lowers morale, leads to disengaged employees and in turn, less productivity) - Cultural Impact (if top talent leaves, people are going to ask why) The PGMS LEAD Program is open to individuals who want to develop, improve, and grow leadership skills. This could include grounds managers and technicians, as well as others who serve the municipalities, sports fields, campuses, parks, clubs, or other organizations that require strong team building and leadership skills. The program is beneficial for both experienced and developing leaders. Whether you are new to a leadership role, hoping to grow into a leadership responsibility, or seeking to expand your skills in your current leadership position, the LEAD speakers and topics offer valuable takeaways, plus opportunities for interaction with fellow participants.
